Picnic Essentials

Its National Picnic Month so to celebrate we thought we'd share with you our picnic essentials.

1. Don't forget a picnic blanket. We know this sounds very obvious but we can't count the number of times we've forgotten our blanket and have ended up sitting on jumpers, coats and whatever else is in the car!

2. There's nothing better than a picnic with a view! Don't forget to bring a rubbish bag to clean up after yourselves and make sure you don't ruin that view for others.

3. Pre-plan your picnic to ensure you have plenty of time to whip up some delicious homemade creations! We would recommend our tasty cheddar & caramelised onion pastries.

4. Our Great British weather can be extremely unpredictable, one minute it's glorious sunshine and the next it raining cats and dogs! To avoid your picnic being ruined by the weather, pack for all occasions.

5. Don’t suffer through bland picnic food, remember to bring your tangy tomato sauce, real ale chutney or strawberry & orange marmajam!

6. Keep your drinks and snacks cold by keeping them in a cool bag with ice packs. Any foods with meat or creamy condiments will need to be kept in a cool bag to avoid spoiling.

7. Plastic or shatterproof glasses are a picnic essential for us. Through investing in shatterproof glasses you guarantee that they won’t get broken in transit.

8. Whether you’re having a picnic with adults or children, games are always an essential! We would recommend football, frisbee and cricket or rounders as great all-inclusive games that will keep everyone entertained for hours.

9. Picnics can be messy, especially if you’re going with children. Don’t forget to pack napkins or wet wipes to mop up any spills and clean sticky fingers.
