We are delighted to announce a new exclusive collaboration with Game On, an innovative range of jaw dropping savoury jellies for game, meat and cheese. Here’s a little background to one of our newest partners brands.
Mother of three and former solicitor Michelle Record started Game On in 2015 in her kitchen in Balcombe, a village in the Sussex countryside.
Spotting a gap in the market for really high-quality game meat accompaniments (and later other meats and cheese), she set to work transforming locally picked crab apples, chillies and herbs into a range of truly scrumptious jellies. They went down a storm at her local game shop, as well as local village shops and fairs – and with that, Game On was born.
Having launched so successfully with her seasonal game range, she then set about creating jellies that could be enjoyed year-round. The result is a six-strong range of savoury jellies, which can be used in cooking or on the table.
Game On won Great Taste Awards in 2016 and 2017, and Michelle was delighted to be given the coveted Great Taste Producer accolade at the 2018 event. Michelle sells the Game On range through local independent retailers including farm shops, butchers and village shops, and even a historic castle!
Having enjoyed local success, Michelle had ambitions for Game On to become the ‘go-to’ condiment in the game meat category, and a recognised brand for other meat choices and cheese across the UK. And for that she needed a partner that shared her vision, which is where The Bay Tree Food Company came in.
Michelle says: “I feel incredibly proud to have built Game On from the ground up and wanted to find the right partner to help me grow my business.”

The Game On savoury jellies not only are a perfect table condiment for your favourite game, meat and cheese they can also double as the “secret ingredient” in cooking, whether stirring into a gravy, your favourite casserole or using as a glaze.

- Red Currant Jelly with Mint & Chilli - a bold zingy jelly delicious with all types of game poultry & lamb;
- Cider Jelly with Sage - this punchy cider jelly has a wonderful sage background note. Goes beautifully with pheasant or pork, not to mention blue cheese;
- Red Wine Jelly with Thyme & Juniper Berry - The thyme lingers beautifully in the richness of this red wine jelly;
- Orange Jelly with Chilli & Cardamom - great with duck pates and terrines. Also goes beautifully with a strong cheddar or just with butter on toast.
Available exclusively for order through The Bay Tree Food Company from September 2022. The remaining two in the range are scheduled to follow in early 2023.
