The Bay Tree Food Company is proud to announce a revolution in food technology.

After three years of development, the Plymouth based company has created the world's first range of food grade cosmetics.

Launched under the BeauTree brand, these skin care products are so pure they are actually edible.

Working with 100% food grade ingredients, BeauTree believe that you shouldn't use anything on the outside that isn't safe on the inside.

The idea came about in 2016 when the company held a technical forum to discuss the future of preserves.

What was originally mooted as a joke soon became a reality when it was agreed that Mother Nature knows best.

It is no secret that certain foods contain antiseptic and preservative properties, while others, such as fig seeds are natural exfoliants.

The first products to be launched are:

• Rosemary & Gin Shower Jelly
  A beautifully fresh and invigorating body wash. 
   
• Face Cleansing Marmalade
  The deep cleansing properties of Seville oranges in an aromatic face wash.
   
• Fig Body Chutney
  The sweet smell of fig in an exfoliating body scrub
   

• Bath Seasoning
  A relaxing blend of salt and herbs for the bath.

Future products currently under development include a Sweet Chilli Tanning Lotion, Hair Conditioning Mayonnaise, and Wholegrain Mustard Foot Scrub.
